Matt
Marvuglio, Flute
Barry Smith, Acoustic Bass
Yoron
Israel, Percussion
This DVD was created to
help develop a pedal harpist's basic skills of improvising and playing, whether
in a solo setting or in a group. The examples showcase the Felice Pomeranz Jazz
Quartet, featuring Matt Marvuglio, flute, Barry Smith, acoustic bass, and Yoron
Israel, drums. Three original tunes are used for the basis of beginning
improvisation, playing in a groove, chords and voicings, and much more. A
section is devoted to teaching you how to work on scales, pedaling and chords.
There is a helpful companion workbook that can be downloaded online. Having a
basic knowledge of scales, keys and beginning chords is helpful to making the
most of this lesson.

Why Cry
Matt Marvuglio, flute
Ed Saindon, vibes
Barry Smith, bass
"Matt Marvuglio's CD, Why Cry, takes its
title from one of his own contributions to the album which is a mixture of old
and new, and includes the music of Cole Porter and Victor Young. From a flute
player's perspective, Matt has all the ingredients for success, a relaxing and
engaging tone, a virtuoso technique, and an ear to envy. This is music to relax
by and aspire to, and an album flute players will greatly enjoy."
